Copyright Infringements

Date: Jul 25, 2004

Here's a particularly nasty piece of legislation introduced [Senate Bill S.2560] if passed will prohibit the ability to make products which "induce" copyright infringement. This would include products like the VCR, iPod, tape cassettes and Tivo to name a few.

As a Californian, I'm surprised to see Barbara Boxer's name attached to the bill. She is part of the committee which introduced it, along with Minority Leader Tom Daschle and Orrin Hatch. Sadly this shows the bill has bi-partisan support which means it is more likely to pass. You can always contact your Senator, and let them know what you think. Here is my letter to Senator Boxer
